Netravati Trek Itinerary

DAY 1 - Reach to Netravati Base
  • Overnight journey from Bangalore towards the base camp of Netravati Trek.
  • You will be picked up from Bangalore on Friday from the points mentioned below
  • Karachi Bakery in Indiranagar at 7 PM
  • Domlur Sky Walk in Domlur at 7.15 PM
  • Yeswantpur metro station towards Tumkur at 8.30 PM
  • People Tree Hospitals in Gorguntepalya at 8.40 PM
  • You will get to Netravati at around 6 and after breakfast, we will reach Trek’s base camp.
  • We will start the Netravati Peak Trek by 8:00 AM. The total distance of this trek is 16 KM both ways. 
  • On the way up to the summit, have your lunch midway.
  • Once we reach the top of Netravati Peak, all the trekkers can enjoy panoramic views and soak in the serenity. 
  • After spending some time there, we will start trekking towards the base camp.
  • Reach the base camp by 6 P.m. and enjoy a campfire with a lip-smacking dinner.
  • Overnight stay.

  • Wake up at 7 in the morning and have breakfast before heading towards the Samse Tea estate.
  • After exploring the Samse Tea estate, we will return to the homestay and check out by 11:00 PM. 
  • Then we will head back to Bangalore and will visit Hanging Bridge.
  • We will visit the Belur Temple by 1:00 PM and have a self-sponsored lunch afterwards. 
  • Reach Bangalore by 8 at night

Preparation and Planning

  • Travel in Groups: Always trek with a group or a certified guide; the trails can be confusing, and the area is known for dense forests.
  • Inform Someone: Share your trekking plans, including your estimated return time, with friends or family.

Clothing and Gear

  • Appropriate Footwear: Wear sturdy, non-slip hiking boots with ankle support to manage rocky and muddy terrain.
  • Weather-Appropriate Clothing: Dress in layers to adjust to changing weather, and carry a waterproof jacket, especially if trekking during the monsoon.
  • Trekking Pole: A trekking pole aids balance and reduces strain on your knees during steep climbs and descents.
  • Leech Protection: Use full-length clothing and consider anti-leech socks or leech repellent, especially in the rainy season.

Essential Supplies

  • First Aid Kit: Include band-aids, antiseptic wipes, pain relievers, and any essential medications.
  • Water and Hydration: Bring at least 2–3 liters of water per person; water purification tablets are also helpful if you need to refill.
  • Snacks: Pack high-energy, non-perishable snacks like nuts, energy bars, and fruit.
  • Flashlight/Headlamp: Carry a dependable light source with extra batteries in case the trek extends into the evening.

Safety While Trekking

  • Follow the Trail: Stick to designated paths to avoid getting lost and to minimize environmental impact.
  • Pace Yourself: Trek at a comfortable pace and take breaks to prevent fatigue.
  • Be Aware of Wildlife: Kudremukh National Park is home to various animals, including snakes. Avoid provoking or getting too close to wildlife.
  • Watch for Slippery Surfaces: Be cautious on wet rocks and muddy patches, especially after rains.

Weather Considerations

  • Start Early: Begin your trek early to make the most of daylight and avoid being caught in adverse weather.
  • Monsoon Caution: If trekking during the monsoon, be prepared for sudden rain, slippery trails, and possible landslides.
  • Check Weather Forecasts: Review forecasts in advance to avoid trekking in unfavorable weather.

Emergency Protocols

  • Emergency Contacts: Keep local authority, guide, and emergency service numbers on hand.
  • Stay Calm: If lost or in difficulty, stay calm, signal for help using a whistle or flashlight, and avoid moving off the path.
  • Exit Strategy: Familiarize yourself with exit routes and safe shelter locations.

Environmental Responsibility

  • Leave No Trace: Carry back all waste to dispose of it responsibly.
  • Respect Flora and Fauna: Avoid disturbing plants or wildlife to preserve the ecosystem of Kudremukh.
Please note: due to non-availability of permits for Saturday morning trek, we can shift you to Sunday morning trek. In this case, also the trekker will reach back on Sunday night/Monday morning itself.
  • Upon booking, the traveller will receive a confirmation voucher via email, within 24 hours.
  • In the special cases of slots not being available, feasible alternatives will be provided to the customer, in regards to the customer’s preference. In such cases, a new voucher would be sent via email, consisting of the new travel details.
Please note: due to non-availability of permits for Saturday morning trek, we can shift you to Sunday morning trek. In this case, also the trekker will reach back on Sunday night/Monday morning itself.
  • Any cancellation made 20 days prior to the date of departure, would levy a 30% of total tour cost as cancellation charges.
  • Any cancellation made within 7-20 days prior to the date of departure, would levy a 60% of total tour cost as cancellation charges.
  • Any cancellation made within 0-7 days prior to the date of departure, would levy a 100% of total tour cost as cancellation charges.
  • Due to any restrictions such as sudden government policies or regulations, health hazards, medical emergencies, or unprecedented weather conditions, activities and tours may be nonoperational and be cancelled. In cases such as these, operators will attempt to cater to the traveller an alternate, which is feasible in nature. However, any refund would not be catered.
