Valikunja Trek Itinerary
DAY 1 - Bangalore – Kudremukh National Park
- By 7:30 PM you will be picked up from BMC, Indiranagar
- By 7: 45 PM you will be picked up from Domlur Sky Walk
- By 08:00 PM you will be Picked up from Sapphire Toys, Richmond Road
- By 08:30 PM you will be Pick up from Yesvantpur Metro Station
DAY 2 - Valikunja Peak Trek
- We will reach at the homestay by 5 in the morning.
- Freshen up and have breakfast by 6 AM and leave for the start point of trek which is around 1.5 hours away.
- We will reach the trek’s start point by 9:30 in the morning and take the necessary permissions to start the trek.
- The trek will start at 10 in the morning.
- We will reach the summit by 1:30 in the afternoon and there you can have the packed lunch.
- After spending some time at the summit, we’ll start trekking back towards the base camp.
- We will then reach the base camp by 6 in the evening and have tea/coffee and snacks before leaving for the homestay.
- The distance between homestay and basecamp is 1.5 hours.
- We will reach the homestay by 7:30 in the evening.
- Enjoy a lip-smacking dinner followed by an overnight stay.
DAY 3 - Visit Samse Tea Estate & Halebeedu Temple on the way
- Have breakfast by 8 in the morning and head back to bangalore.
- On the way, we will visit the Samse Tea Estate & Halebeedu Temple by 9 AM.
- By 1:30 you can have the self-sponsored lunch on the way.
- We will reach Bangalore by 8 PM.

Valikunja Trek Overview
Located in the Kudremukh National Park, Valikunja Trek lies about 30km north of the Kurinjal Peak. Valikunja Peak is also known as Ajjikunja. To complete this trek, trekkers cover a total distance of 18 kilometres both ways. The trek starts with a climb into a thick forest and then after a few kilometres of trekking, you will be rewarded with spectacular views of grasslands. Trekkers will have to complete a 70-degree climb on the last stretch to the summit. Upon reaching the top, you can witness the footprint of King Vali. The trek allows you to have views of the Udupi district’s beautiful villages and thick shola forests. Apart from the views, trekkers will also get a chance to spot animals like wild dogs, bears, tigers, lion-tailed macaques, and wild boars, along with some bird species.
This is an off-beat trek of Karnataka’s Western Ghats unlike well-known treks like Netravti Peak Trek, Kudremukh National Park, and Skandagiri Sunrise Trek, this hike is known by many, and lets you enjoy the trekking experience in a peaceful atmosphere.
