Gangadikal Trek Itinerary
DAY 1 - Bangalore to Gangadikal
- On day 1, the representatives from the tour operators will pick up the trekkers from Bangalore.
- The specific pickup stops include Indiranagar, New Shanthi Sagar Hotel, Domlur, Sapphire Toya, Richmond Road, and Yeshwantpur Metro Station.
DAY 2 - Trek to Gangadikal Peak
- On day 2, you will start the trek to the base camp to Gangadikar peak base camp early.
- At the base camp, offload the extra luggage and take the permits to continue your trek,’
- Around 10 am, you start the trek to Gangaduka Peak and reach there by 10 n.m. with lunch.
- Explore the views from the peak and have your lunch here.
- After that, you start descending down to the base camp towards the homestay. On your way, you can visit the hanging bridge too.
- Reach the homestay by evening, have dinner and a campfire, and stay overnight.
DAY 3 - Return Journey to Bangalore with sightseeing
- On the last day of the Gangadikar trek, head to Bangalore after your breakfast.
- On your way, explore the Samse tea estate and the most famous Lakshmi Devi temple here, Doddagaddavalli.
- Reach Bangalore by evening, ending your trek.

An unexplored trek, a hidden gem, it lets you explore the rocky terrains, dense forests while enjoying breathtaking views of the nearby valleys and hills. The trek takes you to Gangadikar peak where you get to see the entire ridge. It is a tricky trek but easy one too as the peak is a long-ridge and walking along the ridge is like having an adventure of a lifetime. The trek will expose you to blue skies, chill winds, rolling grasslands, and scattered clouds. Gangadikar is known for all this and in the monsoon season, the grassland, a bit secluded and unexplored makes it the perfect trek with a variety of flora and fauna here.
On the side of the ridge, there is a deep valley where you get a unique view of Kudremukh range. A challenging trek spanning over 10-12 km, taking about a day to complete. The trail is a blend of steep ascents, stretches and rocky paths. The best time to undertake this trek is between October and February with cooler weather, making trekking better.
